Risk Assessments

All employers and self employed workers have a legal duty to carry out suitable and sufficient assessments of the risks to those who could be affected by their operations, this includes those not directly involved in the activity, ie members of the public, those who share the workplace etc.

Risk assessments should include an evaluation of the hazards relating to the workplace, the activity and equipment used; who and how they could be at risk; what is currently in place to manage them; and whether you need to do more to remove or reduce the risk to an acceptable level.

The following are examples of Risk Assessments that may be required:

General Work Assessment

Manual Handling Assessment

Fire Safety Assessment

Legionella Assessment (Domestic Water Systems)

Confined Spaces Assessment

DSEAR Risk Assessment (Low Pressure Gas Systems)

COSHH Assessment

Work Equipment Assessment

Noise, Hand and Arm Vibration Assessments
